Other

Chris Pitt Lewis: Burke's headnote says that "it is not possible to establish a connected descent for the Rallis until the early 18th century". It mentions a Michael Ralli, who in 1511, representing the nobility and people of Chios, signed a petition to the Republic of Genoa concerning the property of the monastery of nea Moni. It mentions an obviously fictitious descent from one Raoul Peau-de-Loup, said to be a companion of Robert Guiscard, sent by him to Constantinople, and whose descendants supposedly came to be called Ralli and went from there to Chios.
